Transfer case Repair & Replacement

Your 4WD & AWD Deserve Better
If your 4WD or AWD vehicle has been acting up- Grinding, leaking, slipping or refusing to engage properly, your transfer case might be to blame.
At GT Transmissions, we specialize in transfer case repair and replacement, making sure your SUV or truck actually delivers power to all four wheels like it's supposed to.
What Exactly Does a Transfer Case Do?
Think of the transfer case as a middleman between your transmission and your front/rear axles. Its what allows your vehicle to switch between 2WD, 4WD and AWD modes, sending power where its needed.
When it works, you don't think about it. When it doesn't well... lets just say you'll notice (especially if your in the middle of a snow storm)
Signs Your Transfer Case Needs Repair
If your transfer case is starting to fail, you might experience:
⚠️ Grinding or Whining Noises – If your car sounds like a blender full of bolts when you engage 4WD, that’s not normal.
⚠️ Difficulty Shifting into 4WD or AWD – If your vehicle hesitates or refuses to engage, the transfer case could be failing.
⚠️ 4WD Won’t Engage or Disengage – If you’re stuck in (or out of) 4WD, something’s off.
⚠️ Fluid Leaks Underneath the Vehicle – Low fluid can lead to major transfer case damage.
⚠️ Jerking or Binding While Turning – Especially in AWD vehicles, this could mean internal wear.
⚠️ Dashboard Warning Lights (Service 4WD/AWD Light) – Your car’s basically waving a red flag at you.
If you notice any of these symptoms, don't wait—driving with a failing transfer case can lead to more expensive drivetrain damage.
